Jack's hair was becoming to long for me to keep up with trimming, so last weekend Jay and I decided it was time for the first "real" haircut. We decided to take him to Duff's Barber Shop in Hopkins becauseI babysat for "Duff's" kids for about 7 years. It was great to see Brian again and he did a great job on Jack's hair. Jack did so well!!!! I couldn't believe how still he sat and he didn't even utter a sound! First Trip to the Barber Shop!

On New Year's, our friends Mandi and Travis came over with their little girl Hadley. We had fun watching the kids play together and us adults played Wii for a while. The kids also wanted to play Wii...Hadley even tried to Hula-Hoop! It was so cute!
A Movin' and a Groovin'
About a week and a half before Christmas, Jack started really crawling. He had been kind of doing it for a couple of weeks, but all the sudden it finally clicked and he took off (for the remote of course)! He also is standing all the time now and walking around furniture. He thinks that it is quite fun to let go and just stand and dance! He has tried on several occasions to take a step, but he falls straight down each time. He has also learned how to cause trouble! He loves to try to get cords and pull open drawers, I guess we are not done baby-proofing.Merry Merry Christmas!
We had a wonderful Christmas! We celebrated once as the three of us...then headed to SD to celebrate with my family and then onto Jay's family. Jack was spoiled by all! Thank-you for all of the wonderful toys and clothes Jack received!

Santa's Workshop
A week before Christmas, Jay, Jack and I went downtown to see the Macy's display. I hate to admit that even though we have lived in this city for 10 years, this was the first time that Jay and I had been to the Christmas display.Thanks to Brie's wonderful directions, we got there with out a problem and had so much fun. Jack was able to meet Santa (again) and was very well-behaved in line (thanks to about 50 Puffs and Cheerios). This will defiantly be a family tradition from now on!

Jack and the Not-So-Favorite Blankie
Jack has a very special blanket that he sleeps with every nap and every night.
My Mom's cousin made it for him and it is a very loose knit, so I don't have to worry about him covering his face with it. He loves this blanket and holds it very tight as he sleeps.... actually when you hand it to him, he grabs at it so ferociously that you are afraid that you might loose a hand if you don't pull your hand back fast enough. Anyway, my Mom graciously offered to make Jack several more of these blankets so if we were to lose one, we would have plenty in reserve. I started trying to "sneak" the new ones into the crib in late November. At the beginning of each nap, I would hand him both the original blanket and one of the new ones. At first, when I would come back, Jack and the original blanket would be at one end of the crib and the new blanket would be at the other end. At first, I thought it was just a coincidence, but then I realized that it was happening EVERY nap. Then Jack decided that that was not enough, a few weeks ago, he started trying to push the "intruder" blanket out of the crib and pushing it down through the slats, as seen in this picture (the "intruder" blankie is the dark blue blanket in the bottom of the picture). Notice how sitting next to him is his "original" blankie? I have a video monitor in his room and I have yet to actually catch him doing it, but I can't believe the work he must put into this to get it out of the crib! Very determined baby boy! But, poor Nana, she put so much work into the blankets and Jack won't even pretend to like them for her.

Meet Clancy
About a month ago (I know, I am a little behind, December was BUSY!) this picture was taken at Pottery Barn in the Galleria. Jack and I met some friends there to meet Clancy the Bear and to do a little last minute shopping. Note to self...do NOT under any circumstances go to Creative Kidstuff during the month of December EVER again. Very, very busy....also spend way too much money because it is all so cool!
