Happy Birthday Jack!

Happy Birthday to my wonderful 2 year old!
I can't believe that my little baby boy has grown into such a little man!

We celebrated Jack's actual birthday by going to the Children's Museum. We had planned on going to the Zoo as we had last year on his birthday, but stormy weather lead us to the museum instead. Even though we had just been at the museum the week before, Jack had a blast and Jay and I loved watching him play and learn. Lucy went with as well and she was perfectly behaved except needing several outfit changes while we were there (she actually does this all the time, we say that she just enjoys
doing fashion shows every where we go).

Face first into the cupcakes that evening.

Jack signing "please" for more cupcakes!

Face full of frosting!

To celebrate Jack's birthday with family and friends, we headed to the bowling alley!

Grandma Dotty got plenty of cuddle time in!

Daddy helping Jack.

I forgot to get a picture of Jack's cake before cutting into it!

Jack loved the cake--well actually he pretty just ate the three inches of frosting that was on it!

Grandpa Bill got in some cuddle time too!

Papa bowling!

Nana bowling!

Aunt Jackie bowling!

Travis, Mandi and Hadley.

Not surprising, Lucy spent almost the entire party asleep!
People are starting to ask us if she has eyes!

Lucy at 2 months

Lucy's 2 Month Stats:

Height: 22 1/4 inches (39%)

Weight: 12 lbs, 8 oz (85%)

Head: 14.7 inches (12%)

Likes: Mommy, cuddling, baths, sleeping, her swing and bouncy chair.
Dislikes: Well, since we have only heard her cry a couple of times and they were when she had her shots and had her blood drawn, I would have to say that would top the list....and probably be the only things on her list...oh, wait, she makes fussy noises at stoplights sometimes and she makes an icky face when she takes her vitamins, but other than that she is never sad.
Lucy continues to be an absolute angel! We should have named her Patience, because I have never met a more patient or calm baby! We joke about that her only fault is that she is too easy to forget about, that you get caught up in doing other things and she never reminds you that she is there. We also tease sometimes and call her Lazy Lucy--that she is too lazy to even cry.

Lucy loves to look at faces (I said faces, but really she just likes to look at Mommy's) and is beginning to smile a lot! Most of the time we can get her to smile by just talking to her, but she is just beginning to smile when you run your fingers up and down her tummy.

Jack

Jack's 2 year Stats:

Height: 35 1/4 inches (73%)

Weight: 29 lbs (63%)

Likes: Daddy, Frosty the Snowman, mint Oreo blizzards, fried rice, fries, his bike, older kids, Curious George, his Thomas the Train set, snacks, hats and sunglasses, being outside and his absolute favorites are balls-any kind, soccer, football, golf, basketball, baseball, bowling or anything that resembles a ball.

Dislikes: time-outs, any disciplinary measures, anyone other than Mommy holding Lucy and Mommy holding Lucy too much.

Jack's doctor continues to be impressed with how healthy Jack is. Jack has not been to the doctor for other than well-visits for over a year! He only had two colds this winter, we are so lucky to have such a healthy kid!
Jack's doctor was also impressed with his large muscle skills, which was not a big surprise to us, Jack loves any/every sport and practices constantly!
I can't believe that Jack is TWO! He is such a fun and lively little guy and I just cannot imagine life without him. I love that he is in the age where he still loves to give kisses and is so proud of himself for anything he can do by himself.

Turning 2!

Jack and all of his buddies from my mommy group turned 2 this month! We decided to do a group birthday party for them all again this year and it was a blast! We took them bowling and the kids all had so much fun that Jay and I decided to have Jack's other birthday party at a bowling alley as well.
Here is a few attempts at getting a picture of all of them. Notice how Jack just goes face first into the cupcake!

Here is Jack bowling!

Tractor!

Jack had his first ride on a tractor! I missed it, but I was told that Jack was a little hesitant with the big noisy thing, I am sure in a few years he will be begging for a ride!

Meeting the Aunts

At the end of March, Lucy, Jack and I drove to SD so that Lucy could meet my sisters for the FIRST time! (This was also Lucy's first car trip!) Lucy was a wonderful traveler! Jack was, well...he is a toddler...but the DVD player for the backseat was a wise investment!
Here is Jack with his cousin Cale, aunt Holly, cousin Ellie (holding the new pet bunny that Nana and Papa got for the cousins), and Papa.
Aunt Mimi with all of her munchkins!
Cousin Cale is sooooo good to Lucy and Jack. He loved holding Lucy and he played wonderfully with Jack.
Ellie is starting to like having cousins! She had always been a little weary of Jack in the past, but now as he is getting to be more fun to play with, she had a blast with him!
She loved holding Lucy, too!
Aunt Mimi sleeping with Lucy--one of Missi's favorite parts of being an aunt!

Santa in Spring

Santa is my Homeboy!
What other kid when asked what he wants to wear today responds, "Ho, Ho, Ho!"? And, then, when not able to find the matching hat, finds his baseball cap to accessorize with?
I am pretty sure mine is one of a kind :-)

Isn't She Lovely

When Lucy was two weeks old, we had a fantastic photographer, Jessica Smith come to our house for a little photo session. Jessica was so very patient and kind with our children. I would highly recommend her! We were thrilled with how the photos turned out!

This probably seemed like a ton of pictures, but I actually had a hard time narrowing down which ones to use for the video. Jessica gave us a DVD with 125 gorgeous photos!
