Lucy's First Week

Lucy is an absolute joy! I cannot believe what a good baby she is! We rarely see her with her eyes open, but when we do, she has such a precious look on her face as she gazes into your eyes. We couldn't be more thrilled with her!

Proud Daddy!

Proud Papa!

So calm and content!

Proud Nana!

First family photo!

Beautiful Girl!

5 days old and such a happy girl!

Ready for bed.
This first week has gone really well. She is such an easy baby! Jack is adjusting ok, he has good days and some bad days, but he is always very good and gentle with Lucy.

Little Lucy

Lucianne Jesme joined our family on 2/16/2010 at 4:54 pm. She weighed in at 7 lbs, 13 oz and is 21 inches long. She has dark brown hair and is an absolute angel!
She is a very good baby! She sleeps great and is nursing wonderfully. We feel so blessed to have her in our family!

Valentine's Day

Jay and I decided to spend Valentine's Day at Mall Of America, celebrating one of the last days of being a family of three (and hoping that all the walking would bring on labor naturally--which did not happen).
We first took Jack to Rainforest Cafe. He loved it! We sat right next to a fish tank and he was so enthralled by it that he barely ate any of his meal.
Next, we took Jack to Underwater World. He was a little nervous, he held Daddy pretty tight, but he loved looking at all the fish! It was a great day, but bittersweet. I have loved having a little of family of three and in just two days, a little girl will be joining our family. As exciting as that is, it is also very scary.

Baby Bump

This picture was taken when I was 37 weeks pregnant. Not much room left for her to grow!

Big Boy Bed!

Jack has made the transition from the crib to a toddler bed! We hadn't planned on moving him to a bed until after we moved, but Jack learned how to crawl out of his crib so that left us no choice but to buy him a new bed.
When we first put the bed in his room, Jack just wanted to jump on it, but as soon as I put the sheets on, he was so excited! He is a big fan of basketballs and footballs so this was right up his alley. When we were done putting the new sheets and comforter on, he climbed up on his bed, nestled himself under the covers, asked Jay for a kiss, told us to turn off the light and then waved good-bye to us. We couldn't believe how well it went! We did have a couple of rough naps over the next few days, but for the most part, this transition was much easier than I ever expected.

Daddy's Little Boy

Jack loves to imitate everything that Jay does; this includes wearing Jay's hat and gloves (and often his shoes). Jack's favorite activity is to steal Jay's tools (screwdrivers, flashlights, the cordless drill and pliers are his favorites) and to "fix" stuff around the house. And, we wonder why the house has little marks all over the walls!

Christmas Round 3

Our final Christmas of 2009 was at my parents house. It was wonderful to have all three of the cousins playing together!
Santa pausing for a cookie.
Jack loved a blanket that was for baby girl.

We attempted sledding. Jack had apparently heard stories of past years sledding experiences and wisely protested the plan. Maybe next year he will try it.

Christmas Round 2

Next, was Jay's family's Christmas. We made the long drive a lot more tolerable for Jack by bringing a portable DVD player. He watched "Frosty the Snowman" 9 times in a row on the way there!
Jack was given basketball hoop and he LOVES it! One morning he woke up at 3am saying "B-Ball! B-Ball!" It was not easy explaining why basketball is not played until at least 7am!

We were glad that Jack had a "practice" Christmas at home, because he was much more in to opening presents and checking out his stocking.

Christmas Round 1

We started the Holiday season with decorating our tree. Surprisingly, Jack was great with the tree! He did occasionally take an ornament off the tree, but he would handle them nicely.
We visited Santa and his reindeer at the community center. The event was not as thrilling for Jack this year, he was not thrilled with Santa, I ended up having to be in his Santa photo! Jack did however, like the reindeer.
We took Jack do the Hollidazzle parade for the first time (Jay's first time, too!) It was COLD, but Jack loved it! After every float, he would say "More!" and do the sign language for "more" as well.

We went to Macy's Christmas display again this year and Jack loved it even more than last year. He made us go through it twice! He loved looking at all the elves!
We had a mini-Christmas of just the three of us. Jack really didn't understand opening presents. He just wanted to play with what he had already opened and wouldn't move on to the next present. In fact, we still have a present or two that he hasn't opened yet!
One of Jack's presents was a doll so that he could start practicing how to be a big brother. He does really well with it and loves to give it kisses and hugs.
His favorite toy was probably his new barn. He loves putting all the animals in it.
