Children's Museum
Jack and I headed back to the Children's Museum! This time we were meeting Thalia and her son Adrian. Thalia and I worked together and our due dates were only about a week apart. Adrian ended up being born on Jack's due date (five days after Jack's birthday). Thalia and I spent our entire pregnancies comparing symptoms, cravings, movements and every other pregnancy detail!!! It was fun to have the boys play together after we spent our pregnancies together!

Pool time!
Jack and I have been enjoying summer. During the fist week of June, we made it to the pool three times! We have also started story time again and have been planting in the garden. I will post some pics of these events soon, however I haven't been taking many pictures lately, all I get are pics of his back as he runs away from me!
Jack did meet his first "celebrity" at the pool last week. McMama was there with her Many Small Children and she and I chatted while Jack and Small Fry happily played in the water together. To those of you who don't know who she is, I encourage you to click on her blog and read a bit. She has a "real" blog, you know the kind that can actually add to the family pocketbook! She has something like 1000 hits an hour, Jack's blog has around 150 hits a week!

Updated Food Rules
I swear that as quickly as I hit "publish post" on my first posting of Jack's food rules, he decided to switch them up again.
The new rules include:
~I will not eat hamburger.
~I will not eat pasta.
~Even though I used to LOVE pears and tolerate peaches, now I will not eat either.
~Cheerios are OK now that you have given all the boxes of Cheerios away.
~I MUST stand at your legs and scream the ENTIRE time that you are preparing my meal. It does not matter how long it is until meal time.
~The only fruit I will eat are bananas and applesauce. Oh, and yogurt--does that count as a fruit?
~I don't like bread. Don't stand there and tell me how I used to eat it all the time, I am sure you are lying.
~You can give me the food right off of your plate directly in front of me and I still may not be entirely convinced that it is the same as what you have.
~I love scrambled eggs but I won't eat hard boiled eggs.
I am not having an easy time keeping up with all of these rules. If they just didn't change so much I think I could handle it!

Trip to SD
Because Jack was now forward facing, Jay and decided a quick trip to SD was in order.
We went to may parents house for a quick little visit and celebrated my sister Missi's birthday. We gave her a card that played music when you opened, however, Jack quickly took it from her. He played it over and over and did his funny little dance moves. I would love to post video of him dancing with the card, however I left the video camera in SD (I know! I am kicking myself over this mistake!) so it will have to wait. Missi let Jack keep the card and he has been playing it ever since. If you have ever wondered how long those cards last, well, I can tell you he has played it around 187 times a day since Saturday. I will let you know when it ends.
We did a quick little trip over to see Jay's family and they were having a little family reunion. Jack was not really interested in playing with anyone, but did enjoy opening the cooler, taking out ice and passing out the ice!
Here is a pic of Jay and Jack standing with Jay's cousin Jim and his little guy at the reunion.

Face First Into the World
Jay and I decided that it was finally time to switch Jack to the "Big Boy" carseat. We had been delaying this right of passage for a while. As of Jack's first birthday, he did meet the requirements, but we decided to wait for a while because of safety reasons. They say that it is safest to stay rear facing for as long as possible. Our other reason was just because of convenience. Jack's infant carseat had a base that it snapped into, we had a base in both vehicles. Most days, we use my truck, but when the three of us go someplace, we use Jay's car, so it was nice and easy to "snap" the infant carseat in and out without much adjusting. Jack's infant seat held babies for much higher weights and lengths than most carseats, so we waited.
For now, we have the big boy carseat in my truck, but I am wondering how long it will be before Jay tells me to get one for his car as installing this thing is a pain (not that I would know, I have never installed any of Jack's carseats, I am just repeating what Jay tells me!).
Above is a picture of Jack in his infant carseat on his last ride rear facing. Below is what he looked like the first time we put him in the carseat!
And, here is the little guy in her big boy carseat! I thought he would be more excited about the extra leg room and that he could see new stuff, but as he never really minded rear facing, it isn't too big of a deal to him.
